Annual Sizzlin' Summer Sale Wednesday, July 23rd, 2008 Downtown Emporia 7am until 7pm

Kansas Shrine Bowl July 26, 2008 Welch Stadium, ESU Come out for a day of food, fun, and football! Emporia hosts the annual Kansas Shrine Bowl at Welch Stadium. Gates open at 5:00pm, and tickets can be purchased in advance at the ESU Memorial Union, Emporia Chamber of Commerce, or the Emporia Gazette office. Before the game, be sure to check out the Arts & Crafts Fair, downtown from 9:00am-4:00pm. Other activities include a Kids Fair, Shrine Bowl Parade, 1 Mile Fun Run, and so much more! Live in the Lot Guess what time it is? That's right it's time for "Live in the Lot". Come down and join us for free live music after the Farmer's Market behind Flint Hills Music in the Merchant Street Parking Lot(700 block of Merchant). Music begins at 7:30 pm every Wednesday in June & July. This event gives our local talent an opportunity to play in front of family, friends, and visitors! FREE movies will be shown every other Wednesday beginning at dusk. Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy the lazy days of summer! Brown Bag Concerts FREE! Wednesdays @ noon Brown Bag Concerts are held
at the Emporia Public Library Courtyard Wednesdays in June &
July. This event is sponsored by Emporia Public
Library, Friends of the Library, Emporia Main Street,
Emporia Arts Council & Lyon County Historical Society. Lunch and snacks will
be sold by Wheat State Pizza and The Sweet Granada. Seating is limited so you
may want to bring your own chairs.
