Emporia Main Street Events: November

Freedom Fest 2008

All Veterans Tribute Week  kicks off on Sunday, November 9th with the 6th Annual Emporia Main Street Freedom Fest.  The Freedom Fest is a combination of fun competitions centered around Veteran’s Day celebration. There is a 5k (3.1 mile) run/walk that brings individuals, teams and veterans from across the region to celebrate the founding of Veteran’s Day in Emporia, KS.  This event is a timed race with plaques and medals awarded to various age groups for both male and female participants.

Events also include a 15 mile or 35 mile mountain bike ride throughout the countryside of Emporia, sponsored by CableOne and High Gear Cyclery.  A memorial bike ride & rally has also been added to the list, which will tour memorial tributes throughout Emporia.  Be sure to stick around for Breakfast with Bernie and the Media Challenge!
