Main Street Auction

You're invited to the Annual Main Street Auction on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at the historic Granada Theatre.  Social and silent auction begin at 5:30pm.  Live auction begins at 7:00pm. Join us for a "spooktacular" time of good haunting and tasty treats!  Costumes are encouraged!

 All proceeds will go toward the Public Improvement Fund and the purchase of a Green Machine.

Main Street Harvest Festival

Join us for the Main Street Harvest Festival! An event in celebration of the changing seasons, and the grand opening of the Granada Theatre!

   Harvest Festival will be Saturday, October 11, 2008 in the Farmers Market Parking Lot from 8am-12pm.  There will be a variety of fun activities for the whole family, including guided tours of the Granada, art projects at the Art Mobile, merchant booths, food booths, and more!

Children's Book Award

Held annually each October in Emporia, The William Allen White Children's Book Award, established and directed by Emporia State University, was founded in 1952 by the late Ruth Garver Gagliardo, to honor the memory of William Allen White by encouraging the boys and girls of Kansas to read and enjoy great books.
