The partnership of Flint Hills Technical College, the Kansas Small Business Development Center at Emporia State University and Emporia Main Street came together nine years ago to start a pilot program that helped area residents receive the educational resources they needed to start their own business.  Over the nine year span, forty-seven businesses have started up or expanded through their experience with the class.  Due to the support of ESB Financial, this year’s class filled in record time with some awesome business concepts.

We already have class members looking for attorneys, bankers, insurance agents, graphic designers, real estate agents, media advertising consultants, sign suppliers and a host of other professionals that can assist them in turning their dream business into a reality.  If you want a chance to connect with, or simply congratulate members of this year’s Start Your Own Business Class, join us in congratulating the latest graduates of the Start Your Own Business Class!  TONIGHT, March 12th from 7 pm-9 pm at Town Royal (405 Commercial Street), we will hand out graduation certificates, and celebrate entrepreneurs and volunteers that make the SYOB Class possible.

Join us for refreshments and show your support for all the good things happening in Emporia! The SYOB Class is another innovative way that local volunteers are cooperating through unique partnerships to build tangible success stories.  We hope to see you tonight!

See this and MUCH more info in this week’s Emporia Main Street E-newsletter!
